FAQ
What should I expect at my first appointment?
An initial assessment will involve the therapist getting to know you more about you and your symptoms and goals with rehab. I will do my best to answer any questions you may have and provide education related to your concerns. The assessment may also include testing mobility and strength of the low back and hips, and pelvic floor muscles. If an internal assessment (vaginally) is indicated, this will be discussed at the appointment. An internal assessment is not necessary, but can be very helpful in understanding and treating your symptoms.
Does your business offer direct billing?
At this point in time we are unable to directly bill insurance providers. However, this is a feature we will be offering shortly. We will provide you with all the necessary documentation in order to self submit.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No! We are primary health care providers and no referral from a doctor is needed.
Is holisitic nutrition covered under my health insurance?
If your insurance provider does not cover holistic nutrition services, we encourage you send a letter to your employer requesting that holistic services be added to your insurance coverage.
Please click this link to get a copy of the letter we recommend you send.
What is your cancellation policy?
A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapists’ day that could be filled by another patient. As such, we require 48 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Patients who provide less than 48 hours notice will be charged 50% of their appointment fee, and less than 24hrs notice the full appointment fee. If you have booked an appointment for Gabriola Island, 48hrs notice is required. If you are sick, we require 4hrs notice before your appointment. Please keep everyone healthy and do not come to your appointment if you have any symptoms of a cold or flu.
Am I too old for pelvic floor physiotherapy?
